On May 6, the Shaanxi Province Key Project Observation (Guanzhong Area) in the first quarter of 2024 came to the construction project of the green recycling production line of titanium alloy for aircraft and engines in Xianyang High-tech Zone.

At the project site, the reporter saw that in the spacious production workshop, the machines roared, the welding light flashed, and the workers shuttled between the equipment in an orderly manner. The total investment of the project is 717 million yuan, with an annual investment of 202 million yuan. It will be implemented in three phases. The first phase will invest 327 million yuan, mainly to build aviation-grade titanium alloy production lines, etc.; the second phase will invest 287 million yuan, mainly to build precision wire production lines, etc.; the third phase will invest 102 million yuan, mainly to build recycled titanium alloy raw material production lines, etc.

Titanium alloy materials can be called "fine grains and calcium tablets" in aerospace vehicles. Tiancheng Aviation Materials focuses on the application needs of key aviation materials, cooperates with well-known scientific research institutes at home and abroad, forms world-class new material development capabilities, domestic leading short-process low-cost manufacturing system, and realizes import substitution of domestic materials. It breaks through multiple technical barriers from the basic material end and solves the two "bottleneck" problems of aviation materials. In just a few years, China's titanium industry has made a great leap from following, running side by side to leading.

"For us, developing new quality productivity means developing new technologies and promoting project development through technology-driven." Che Wei said that as the process of digitalization, intelligence and greening continues to accelerate, the project will take the initiative to use artificial intelligence technology to develop material genes and improve material development capabilities; at the same time, it will increase foreign exchanges and cooperation. So far, the project has cooperated with more than 20 universities, scientific research institutes, and domestic and foreign enterprises, with more than 60 cooperative projects, promoting the continuous improvement of technical level.

After the project is completed, it can produce 7,000 tons of titanium alloy materials annually, and the company's annual titanium alloy production capacity will be increased to the second in the country. "At present, the Phase 1 aviation-grade titanium alloy short-process, low-energy consumption preparation production line of the project has been completed and put into production; the Phase 2 equipment foundation and procurement have been completed, and are gradually entering the site. The production plant has been completed by 70% and is expected to be put into use at the end of August. The staff dormitories have been put into use; the Phase 3 recycled titanium alloy raw material production line has started trial production and is expected to be fully operational in December."
